Couldn’t agree more that we miss so much because we settle for the children’s version of these marvellously complex and deep accounts.

I agree that it is very relevant for the Voice referendum - which next weeks post will look at!

I've never heard this deep insight into the Joseph story which has been sugar coated into a children's story and musical. Imagine if churches embraced this loving approach to those who are distant and different. Surely we would experience God's kingdom coming on earth. Thanks, Brian!

Oh my…brilliant. I think in particular, Brian, that this principle is relevant to the ‘Voice’ referendum taking place in our nation. No matter which way we vote or the outcome, we must not permit distance and difference to cause an irreparable breach in the relationship between First Nation and Non-First Nation people. Joseph’s brothers couldn’t predict how much they needed Joseph to safeguard their futures, so too we can underestimate how much Australians of all racial backgrounds rely on each other for a flourishing future.

Thanks for timely insight, Brian.
