I take your point about it needing some courage to get these views out, but isn’t that part of the problem – that people don’t feel free to say what they think lest they face criticism or are shut down? But we need a range of views and serious discussions if we are to move forward. Thanks again.

As with other opportunities in Australia, there is complacency which is quite misplaced in a relatively new ‘global village’ situation…in too many areas we and other western nations are sleepwalking our way to irrelevancy. And the Christian church appears entrenched in that.

There seems a lack of realisation that the ‘brand’ has suffered significant damage over the past 20 years (or less). And it is difficult to find any reassurance that the Christian churches are individually and collectively working at putting that right as a priority.

Not much value, in my (limited) understanding of what is happening churchwise in 2019 and beyond, wringing our hands at what is taking place out there in the schools, Rugby Australia, a possible Labor government(??) etc etc etc if the Christian brand is viewed as suss by a large part of the community. In turn it’s rather hard for us as individuals to channel ‘authenticism’ into much that goes very far when there’s no real marketing and strong brand identity out there, and therefore little (constructive) conversation running in the community to tap into.

It is so refreshing to read your challenging words in the blog…I’ve taken the liberty of sending the link to a couple of leaders in 1church Lakelands/Mandurah. Your call to action should be a critical take-off point for a revival.
‘Could This Be God’ is likewise inspiring, I’m on my second cover-to-cover read after having dipped into various parts often at random.
